Kevin Farrell
Kevin Farrell My name is Kevin Farrell. In March of 2012 I stepped on the scale for the first time in over a year and it read 268 lbs. I was out of shape, overweight and frustrated with how I looked, felt and ate. I decided then and there, to do something about it. I signed up for 21 Day Fat Loss Program at Heavyweights Training Center. By the end of the program I had lost a total of 21.5 lbs and 6.5 inches, I was ecstatic. In losing the weight, I had now gained more friends than I could ever count and suddenly found myself as part of the Heavyweights family. I’ve been to many gyms before but never like this! I was hooked! Then came Built in 42 I trained and pretty much lived at Heavyweights Training Center; from BBQ’s on Friday nights, to Strongman on Sunday. By the time Built in 42 was through, I had developed friendships that will last a lifetime, and a family that will always be a big part of my life. I was eating healthier, sleeping better, mentally focused and happier than I had ever been. Thanks the Built in 42 Program, the diet, training, and especially the help of my HWTC coaches I had lost a total of 71 lbs in 8 months, and competed in my first ever body building competition. Then, in July of 2013 I, along with Team HWTC traveled to Salt Lake City Utah to do the Strong First Kettlebell Certification under Coaches Dan John and Pavel Tsatsouline. Here I learned a lot of new principles to better serve my clients, and opened NL Kettlebells, which I run in association with HWTC. This past year, I have shifted my focus to coaching Canadian Powerlifting Athletes. I traveled to St. Catharines, ONT for the CPU National Championships. Here I was privileged to coach two national Champions, along with one athlete breaking the National Deadlift record. I then applied and was accepted to coach Team Canada Powerlifting. It was the experience of a lifetime and Team Canada returned with numerous medals and four World Champions!
