Suzanne Dollimount

Suzanne and Daughter Rachel during Grad Day October 2013

Ever since childhood, I have always been obese.  I remember having to buy plus size clothing in my early teenage years.  This is a trend that unfortunately continued throughout my life.  My highest known weight was 312 lbs. I didn't step on the scale for over 10 years, so I was definitely heavier at some point.

I was fortunate to have the child I was told I would never have.  I am a single Mom to the most wonderful little girl. Unfortunately, I spent a great amount of her life sick, tired and unable to get out of bed to properly take care of her. I suffered everyday from my Crohn's disease, severe arthritis, post traumatic stress and asthma. On top of my already long list of health issues, I was at the emergency room one day when the doctor informed me that I was borderline diabetic. He looked at me with the most sincere look on his face and said, "If you want to watch that little girl grow up, you had better do something about your health."

As of August 12, 2014 Suzanne has reached the 140lb fat loss mark and is more than 100" smaller!

I took that very seriously.  On January 14, 2012 I started my diet and exercise routine. I worked hard, and I lost 84 lbs in 9 months.  Then I was stalled there for a long time.

It was then that I looked to Heavyweights for help.   It was one of the best decisions I ever made. Now I had proper diet and exercise incorporated. My weight loss was jump started once again.   To date I have lost 140 lbs and approximately 101 inches.  It was no overnight transformation, I had to work really hard at it. It took more 13 months to lose 130lbs, since then I have worked really hard to keep my transformation going and continue to improve everyday.   I have never felt like this before.  I am doing things that I could never have physically done in my entire life. I really do not recognize the woman in the mirror anymore.  I have instead found a whole new me.

I am also happy to report that I have no joint pain anymore, nor am I any longer at risk for developing diabetes. My asthma is completely under control, and my bad days from Chrohns are few and far between. I used to take 8 different medications daily.  I do not take any now.

My life has completely changed, and I look forward to the new challenges to come. It feels SO good to finally describe myself as "athletic" instead of "obese."
